 biography

Barry grew up looking through the lens of a camera. His father, a film producer, and his uncle a writer, exposed Barry to the entertainment business at a very young age. Barry recalls visits to the original MGM and Warner Brothers Studios accompanied by his father as a child. At age 13, his father gave him his first 35mm still camera, and from that point on, Barry had discovered the world of composition.

The influence of his father and his uncle motivated Barry to work his way through the ranks of production, and at the young age of 24, Barry became one of the youngest directors of photography in the business. Barry has worked with clients both nationally and internationally as well as winning such prestigious awards as the Clio Award, Addy Award New York, Addy Award Los Angeles, Golden Mobius and the Venice Film Festival.

Barry describes his current body of photographic work as capturing moments in time that have been overlooked. He states, "Sometimes I wonder if I'm capturing the moment or if the moment is capturing me."
